Peace in the Workplace; Peace in the World
September 11 and the war in Iraq have shown us how important it is that
business leaders be mindful of their role in the larger societal issues
of violence, war, and peace.
Therefore, The Peace Company is sponsoring a series of one-day dialogues,
held in various places around the country, where business leaders can
explore together the role of business in promoting peace - both inside
the company and, through the company, in the community and in the world.
In these dialogue sessions, we will talk about:
- How we deal with conflicts, diversity, power, and greed within our
companies;
- How that correlates with the same issues in the world around us;
- How businesses can use their resources - skills, money, voice - to
support peace initiatives of all kinds;
- What we should be thinking and doing - individually and collectively
- to carry this from words to action.
Results from one dialogue session will be carried over to the next, so
that a continuous stream of learning unfolds. The Peace Company
will produce a final document that details the results of the inquiry
