The Peace Book is being
distributed by a wide variety of individuals and organizations,
and the means by which it is given is as varied as the people
who are giving it.
- One of our initial large sponsors was CARE who distributed
600 copies of The Peace Book to all of its employees
after 9-11 to help them in coping with the tragedy.
- A middle school in Hawaii has received funding to distribute
a copy of The Peace Book in the effort to assist
the movement towards creating a culture of peace.

- As a senior project, a student in Massachusetts is giving a presentation
on peer mediation and is giving out The Peace Book to
everyone who attends his presentation.
- After receiving her first copy of The Peace Book from
a guest staying at The Lazy Oak Bed & Breakfast in Austin,
Texas, Renee Buck, the owner leaves a copy of The Peace Book
in each guest room for guests to take. Renee also has a link on
her website to The Peace Book website.
- One woman in Oregon scrumptiously leaves The Peace Books
on tables in cafes hoping that they will be joyfully taken home
and passed on.
- One of our early individual sponsors Janet Evergreen:
- gave a copy to everyone who attended Charlottesville Peace and
Justice meetings after Sept. 11
- gave a case to a book store owner to distribute in her Books for
Prisoners Program
- gave books to clients who came for Cranial Sacral Therapy
- gave to family, friends, and random people in the street who expressed
an interest in peace
- gave copies to a psychotherapist co-facilitating a weekend training
for teenagers and facilitators of “Help Increase the Peace”
Quaker initiative.
- Copies went to a middle school principal, a school administrator,
ministers, high school library, and meditation teachers.
- Diane Elliott from Virginia has given the book to participants
of Dances of Universal Peace Gatherings, at their New Years party,
for birthday presents. She keeps a basket of the books by the door
for people who come to visit. She has given them to Diocesan staff
members to read in preparation for devising the curriculum on peacemaking
for the coming year.
- Valerie Hoffman of Pacifica, California felt very strongly that
The Peace Book should be a part of the April 20 demonstrations
in Washington and San Francisco. After many calls and emails back
and forth we were able to procure a sponsor for 5 boxes to be
sent to Valerie who spent a lot of her time at the demonstration
reaching into her backpack to give away copies of The Peace
Book.
